Gay Marriage

Well, I've been thinking about this a lot lately and wanted to throw my 2 cents into the pot to see what folks thought about that.

Its pretty simple what I have to say.

In 2004 we dont want homosexuals to have certain rights, one being the right to marry.

In about 1904 we didnt want women to have access to certain rights, including the right to vote.

In 1804 we didnt want blacks to have the right to do... well, just about anything.

Now, I'm no fucking genius. I'm no politcal commentator. But, If i were a betting man, I'd bet that in 2104 the people who are against homosexual's rights are going to look as bigoted and stupid as the folks who were against women and blacks so many centuries ago.

So cast your votes, amend the constitution. Say whatever it is you need to to make yourself sleep better at night. But in the end, 100 years from now, it will break down. I'm sorry, but its almost factual. You may care, but your kids wont and your kid's kids wont and 3 generations from now you'll seem as stupid as your great grandfather when he disagrees about women wearing pants.

Just something to help you sleep better at night.

Oh, and I'll also say that if you went back in time and told our drug smoking alcoholic womanizing forefathers that one day a man named "bush" was going to amend the constitution with a clause about what we can and cannot do with our genitals? They'd laugh you off the fucking block.

Jefferson, specifically, I think would have a good laugh at that. Remember, even during his time, he was as liberal as they come. Ask his black ancestors.
