Good news! Remember yesterday albert gonzales spoke about how awful child porn was and how it was time to start making laws to stop child porn?
well holy fuck if this isnt the BIGGEST coincidence…. BUSH suggested a law today!

The Bush administration’s proposal would require commercial Web sites to place “marks and notices” to be devised by the Federal Trade Commission on each sexually explicit page. The definition of sexually explicit broadly covers depictions of everything from sexual intercourse and masturbation to “sadistic abuse” and close-ups of fully clothed genital regions.
Yes, you read that right. FULLY CLOTHED GENITAL REGIONS. A CAMEL TOE CAN GET A BLOGGER 5 YEARS IN JAIL. THANK YOU JESUS.

During his speech, Gonzales also warned that Internet service providers must begin to retain records of their customers’ activities to aid in future criminal prosecutions–a position first reported by CNET News.com–and indicated that legislation might be necessary there as well. Internet service providers say they already cooperate with police and appear to be girding for a political battle on Capitol Hill over new regulations they view as intrusive.
So, your ISP will start logging where you go and what you do so that we can prosecute you for viewing the wrong things. Like china. CHINA. C H I N A. christ.
Dont get me wrong, I already register all my sites with all of the child filter programs and such but i’m just very sad and confused at this point

unfortunately hsmeilop, nope.
the precedent is there… you can say what you want, but the constitution never says where. So, shouting ‘fire’ in a crowded theatre can be made illegal because you’re supposedly infringing on other peoples rights.
same with television, if you broadcast on public airwaves you cant put things people dont want to see on it, cause if you do, you’re infringing their rights to not see offensive things (when trying to do something as ‘normal’ as watching a tv).
so, they’re trying to now apply that precedence to the internet. Put the offensive things behind closed doors. shut it down permanetly if you can, but if you cannot make a ‘red light district’ for the net.

ok, if they are going to start putting people in jail for 5 years because of showing they’re underwear, what about billboard signs, then what? magazines? Television? hugh heffner will be broke in a week!! The internet is part in my book, the last stand for freedom…they’ve put a hold on everything else in society and now they’re trying to take this away from us too!! I have racy pictures on my site as well as my own personal page when I work on cam occasionally for extra money… I am also an artist? so, what now….i have to have a warning on my page because i choose to show the human body as a work of art?? Looks like bush needs to make a grant to build more prisons, because there will be an hell of alot of people going to prison b/c they showed they’re Ass off in there jeans they bought…Give me a break Bush….You’re a prick!!
