On Comment Spam
Boogie-blog is one of the few high volume blogs out there that still allows users to comment, which in a way is a shame because so few viewers take the time to do so (1:2000 or so).
However, this lack of comment activity is quickly made up for by the eleven million comment spam bots who try and ultimately fail to post on boogie-blog. I have more than enough spam filters at my finger tips and the handful of ones that manage to mask their keywords enough are simply denied in the approval process. 
Though, while clicking on these to deny them I do generally scan them to make sure its spam. I wanted to answer a few of these comments today, as people are so bent on delivering the message they’ll try about 400 times an hour.

I allow comments on DeltedBrain but only from registered members. Sadly, not very many people care enough to drop any comments on the blog… oh well, it could be worse.

As a fellow blogger I feel the same exact way. Keeping track of comment spam and trackback spam is a ridiculous job. One way I’m going to try on my site it to require users to use openid. It might work for you as well and won’t piss people off by making them have to register.
