Net Neutrality? FUCKSHITS
dont know much about net neutrality?
here is the short and thick of it.
1) The Telecoms come up with the “Cope Act” (Communications Opportunity, Promotion and Enhancement Act) which will make them more money and allow them to install “TOLL” lanes on the information superhighway.
Instead of a free, fair, everyone gets charged the same deal system… they can pick and choose who pays what at will. fun.
2) The ENTIRE FUCKING INTERNET including Google, Ebay, the singer MOBY, a thousand different singers and actors and of course your humble blogger back SaveTheInternet.com and fight the good fight.
3) REGARDLESS of hearing our message loud and clear, republicans just vote along party lines anyways. Hey wait, arent a lot of rich people at google and ebay and such republicans? ah well.
By a 269-152 vote that fell largely along party lines, the House Republican leadership mustered enough votes to reject a Democrat-backed amendment that would have enshrined stiff Net neutrality regulations into federal law and prevented broadband providers from treating some Internet sites differently from others
4) welll… fuckshit.
so now what? Well, some ATT fatcats get more money, we pay more money, life goes on.
sources: BBC News: Defeat for net neutrality backers and of course ZD Net: House rejects Net neutrality rules
Dirty, rotten, greedy, filthy cockbags. Fuckass.
shitballs.

AT&T is re-forming like the non-governator T2. They got popped in ‘74, but now all the pieces are scurrying back together.
This is especially critical now in my industry, wireless. The recent ’sale’ of AT&T to Cingular has now been revealed to be a ‘reverse sale’, and Cingular will be loosing their brand to take AT&T back on.
It’s going to be tariffs and squeeze on the service providers (read, colo’s + bandwidth providers) who are going to have to raise monthly rates to stay alive.
Google Adsense might be at risk since it’s already thin margins.
Let’s just hope Verizon / Sprint CDMA can give them a run for their money.
Penny an email anybody? As long as I can file it as a business expense.

hydroid,
thanks for the info and backup on this article. Sad fucking day for the internet. Mark it as the day it caught its first real disease and started to die.
