After trying to move all porn sites to .xxx domains, after trying to squelch out porn with their 2257 fiasco, AFTER trying to force ISPs to keep catalogues of all sites visiting, the republicans finally have it!
Mandatory Web Labeling Laws.
Lets imagine you, Sam Surfer, decide “Boogies blog sure is fun to read I would like to have a blog of my own” so you head on over to say, blogspot.com, and create your own. Its pretty pure and simple now.
But with the republicans new way of thinking you’d have to “rate” your website, like the ESRB does video games and the MPAA does movies, and so on and so forth.
So lets imagine you think you’re going to make a NON adult website that could NOT be considered harmful to minors. Then one day you get pissed off and go on a tirade and say “FUCKING SHIT COCKSUCKING FUCKBALLS” in your post. Or maybe one day you include a picture or youtube video that may be considered “sexual”.
Only your website is still rated G.
and eventually a politician who wants to make a name for hismelf finds it.

Extremist? maybe. But this law Has already passed the senate comittee and is well on its way to becoming law.
The U.S. Senate Commerce Committee, with the backing of the Bush administration, approved an amendment to a wide-ranging telecommunications bill that would require mandatory website labeling on pages that contain explicit sexual images.
Both proposals were prompted by a speech from Attorney General Alberto Gonzales in April, who called on Congress to act quickly to “prevent people from inadvertently stumbling across pornographic images on the Internet.”
Yeah that’s great, I dont want anyone accidently stumbling accross porn if they dont want to. Problem is? KIDS ARENT DOING IT ON ACCIDENt YOU RETARDS. they want to look at porn. Remember when you were 15 years old back in, what was it, 1920 you old dried up senate fucks? Well, remember how badly you tried to sneak a peek at Susie Q’s tits? SO ARE YOUR KIDS, ITS CALLED HORMONES. READ ABOUT IT IN WIKIPEDIA.
And this does absolutely NOTHING to stop kids from accessing these things in librarys all accross the country.
This does NOTHING to keep smart kids from circumventing adult filters.
This does NOTHING but make it more cumbersome for adult webmasters to do their jobs.

According to CNET News, which has seen a copy of the bill, websites must not place sexually graphic images on their homepage, and they must rate “each page or screen of the website that does contain sexually explicit material,” according to a system to be determined by the Federal Trade Commission.
I have no less than, lets say, seventy bazilillion pages across my server, all of which would have to be labeled. sounds like a real fun time.

But the best part, of course, is that the internet is INTERNATIONAL. (wonder if thats how they got the name? INTERNET).
Even if all americans do this, there is still the rest of the web. Most of the offending websites are outside of the country anyways. Sad, stupid, ignorant shits. IT will achieve NOTHING. It will push the offending websites offshores where they’re unprosecutable, and they’ll keep on NOT weblabeling and taking advantage of kids and telling you to go fuck yourself.
